Artist statement: Those who have set their goals will grasp every opportunity to reach their destinations.  

1.What is the form of the art work?

 Ans: Installation

2.What is the background of Joe which is related to the art work?

Ans: Sigh with the artists who give up their dreams.

3.What kind of social background makes Joe create this work?

Ans: In nowadays society, it is difficult for us to earn a living solely as an artist. Teenager is hard to start their business, needless to say about their dreams. Thus, artists must posses their primary job first and then pursue their art dream.

4.How long does it take you to finish the work?

Ans: 3 months

5.What is the level are you in if you use this art work to describe yourself?

Ans: I am not sure! But I hope to reach the top of the sculpture one day.

6.How do you grade “Goals”, compared with your previous works? Why?

Ans: I like it so much because of its realism since it exactly reflects a human life.

7.Why there is a disconnection between the top of the tree and the ladder?

Ans: The top of this art work represents the end goals in one’s life (dreams), not everyone can reach to this part due to some restrictions in life e.g. economic difficulties or they have already forgotten their dreams.

8.What is the purpose of this art work? Is it for encouraging people to set their goals?

Ans: Yes, I wish the next generation can pursue their dreams after they earn their living.

9.What is the meaning of the tree? Why do you choose it?

Ans: I like to use tree as subject.

10.Which part do you like most?

Ans: The tree.

11.Did you create any similar art works before?

Ans: Yes, I have an art work, which is about a couple who is holding hands, using a tree as a background.
